Jason Riis, PhD, a lecturer and research scholar in the Marketing Department at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, discusses the ways in which behavioral economics theory can inform efforts to combat overuse in health care. His research focuses on consumer behavior, and Riis explains how the human brain functions can influence how consumers make choices that impact their health. He is part of Penn’s Behavior Change for Good Initiative and the founder of Behavioralize.
